Your Choices Make You
We make choices daily because in life, there are always options to choose from. There are also forces that influence our decisions and choices. However, we have no control over the consequences of our choices. Interestingly, life clearly states where our choices will land us, but we could decide to ignore sound instructions and deceive ourselves into thinking we would receive results that defy ignored warnings.
I have come to realise that the saying "As you lay your bed, so you lie on it" is the summation of all everyone needs for a successful life.
Come to think of it, you know smoking is harmful to your health, it is even clearly stated on the package but you choose to enjoy the temporary pleasure it gives you, anyway, and daily you ignore the warning. Then comes the diagnosis of lung cancer, the undesired but uncontrollable consequence of your daily choices. This reminds me of a renowned Professor of Medicine during my undergraduate days who was an addicted smoker. He told his students that he knew what smoking could do to him, and he had chosen to die a smoker. He told them that if they were not willing to accept the consequences of smoking, they should avoid it.
In the same way, you are very aware that being in multiple relationships can destroy your future life (if single) or marriage (for the married), but you chose to enjoy the momentary thrill of different women or men. Then comes deadly infections and afflictions on your body, soul and spirit, complications that could have been avoided, because of your choices. I used to know a male nurse who was reportedly involved in multiple relationships with women, though married. In the early days of HIV/AIDS, he contracted it. He infected his very beautiful wife and the baby she was pregnant with. He died first, the baby died next, and his wife also died; the uncontrollable consequences of a man's choice.
Our choices in life determine how we end. Therefore, everyone needs a guide. Do you have a guide? Who is guiding you? Without a guide, everyone is prone to wrong endings, but with a guide, you will be sure to end well.
Choose a good, tested, and trusted guide, and you will take sure steps and end well.

The world has one true guide: God, through the LORD Jesus the Christ, the only way to the Father. His yoke is easy, and His burden is light.
The only false guide with many shades and colours is satan, the devil, who is the thief. He comes to steal, to kill, and to destroy (John 10:10). He rules through deception to lead as many as he can to hell with him because he is a liar and the father of lies, and when he lies, he speaks his native language. (John 8:48)
The LORD Jesus Christ came to show us the way to the Father. However, the devil came to deceive us with counterfeits of the originals Jesus offers. Jesus came down to our level and lived among us to show us the way to the Father and a blessed eternity. He gave His all to us. All He asks of us is to believe in Him, follow His teachings, His example, obey Him, trust Him, depend on Him, and we shall have all promised results and rewards. What do we see today? The world wants a bit of Jesus and a bit of satan. So, a follower of Jesus, who wants the deceptive freedom that satan provides, sits on the fence, one leg for Jesus, and one leg for satan. You go to church, you sing and follow all the motions, and people call you a child of God, but you still do these things satan permits that Jesus warns you against. You should know that satan the deceiver wholeheartedly accepts your seemingly half-hearted patronage because he knows he has you trapped already. "A little yeast permeates the whole lump." (Galatians 5:9) One sin, one act of disobedience corrupts your entire being. If you belong to Jesus, you can not love what satan loves. otherwise, you are just a 21st-century pharisee, playing religion. If you are one leg in, as far as the Kingdom of God is concerned, you are not in at all. Let us not be deceived, religion belongs to satan, but whoever is truly Christ's will worship Him in Spirit and in Truth.
"God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth." (John 4:24)
Whoever is Christ's shall depart from all appearances of evil.
2 Timothy 2:19
[19] Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let everyone that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
The Voice of Reason is calling you to check yourself carefully whether you are living in self deceit or in sincerity.
The LORD Jesus is very clear to us:
1. He gave His all, He wants our all. He does not want to share us with the thief who gave nothing for us but uses deception to distract us from the One who gave everything to rescue us from the wrath to come.
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16)
"But God demonstrates his love toward us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
(Romans 5:8)
2:15 Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
2:16 For everything in the world--the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does--comes not from the Father but from the world.
2:17 The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.
I invite you to choose Jesus today. He gave His all for you and I. The best thing you can do for yourself today is to accept His love and your life will never remain the same again.
Prayers:
1. Repent of every sin you have committed in error or self deceit. Ask the LORD to take you back if you had been born again but backslid.
2. Ask the LORD into your life if you are not born again. Tell the LORD to forgive you all your sins, cleanse you with His precious Blood, give you a new heart, and write your name in the Book of Life.
3. Ask the LORD to cleanse your heart and kill your appetite for the things He hates.
4. Ask the LORD to give you appetite for what He loves.
Action Points:
1. Attend a Bible believing church for proper grooming if you just repented.
2. Tell others about Jesus and what He has done for you.
3. Separate yourself from friendships and associations that do not fuel your resolve to please God.
