More than two decades into his career, 2Baba has picked a title that says it plainly. His new album is called Oldest Young Man, and it will be released on 27th November 2026, as the artiste announced on Instagram. It is his first studio album in more than six years.
The Announcement
2Baba revealed the date with the line that the legacy continues, adding that the music has no expiration date. The album drops on 27th November on all streaming platforms, written in his post as 27.11.26.
The title was first teased in August. In a post covered by TVC News, 2Baba, whose full name is Innocent Ujah Idibia, announced the project with photos and wrote: "I've lived it. I've seen it. I'm still here."
His First Studio Album Since Warriors
The last time 2Baba released a studio album was Warriors in 2020, which featured Burna Boy, Wizkid and Olamide. That makes the gap about six years. He has continued to release music in between, but a full-length project is a different statement for an artiste with more than two decades in music.
A Listening Party for His Birthday
2Baba previewed the project at a listening party in Lagos to mark his 51st birthday. Family, friends and figures from the entertainment industry attended.
What the Title Suggests
The phrase Oldest Young Man leans into his age without apologising for it. A long-serving artiste putting his age in the title is a statement of confidence.
