Davido has reportedly submitted his sixth album, Oriadé, for Album of the Year at the 2027 Grammys, and "B4 B4" is on the list for Record of the Year. The song began as someone else's. It was a Mayorkun and FOLA track first, and Davido's place on it came because Mayorkun sent it to him. The Song That Was Not Meant to Be Davido's

Davido told the story in a recent interview with Carterefe. Mayorkun and FOLA had finished "B4 B4" before Mayorkun sent it to him and asked him to add a verse. Once Davido had recorded his, Mayorkun said he could have it for his album. Davido also said he had almost left it off Oriadé. He had already finished the album and was unsure about the song until his aide, Israel DMW, urged him to include it.

FOLA, who is on the song, has his own moment this month. His second album, 9, came out on 9th October with Davido among its guests.

Ayra Starr is reported to have submitted her album Starrgirl for Album of the Year, Best Global Music Album, Best Engineered Album and Best Album Cover. What Happens Next

Entries closed on 21st August, and only registered media companies and voting or professional members of the Recording Academy can submit entries. Recordings that were not submitted cannot be considered for nomination. Eligible releases ran from 31st August 2025 to 28th August 2026.

First-round voting runs from 12th to 22nd October, and it is first-round voting that produces the nominees. They are announced on 16th November. Final-round voting follows from 10th December to 7th January, and the ceremony is on Sunday 7th February 2027 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
