Seyi Vibez's "Volume" Debuts at No. 1 as He Takes the Entire Top Five of the Official Nigeria Top 100

Seyi Vibez's "Volume" has debuted at No. 1 on the Official Nigeria Top 100 with 5.95 million on-demand streams, and Seyi Vibez holds eight of the top ten positions on the chart dated 29th September, TurnTable Charts reports. It is his sixth No. 1 on the chart.

What Happened on the Chart

Seyi Vibez occupies the entire top five, which TurnTable says makes him "the second artiste to occupy the entire top five of the Official Nigeria Top 100, joining Asake." "Volume" opens at the summit, with "GTA," "Ilome," "Back 2 U" and "Diamond" behind it. TurnTable also describes "Volume" as the first track to reach No. 1 on the official singles chart on streaming alone, and notes that Seyi Vibez has now topped the chart in four consecutive calendar years, from 2023 to 2026.

The Album Behind the Run

The chart run follows SWAGUU, the album he released in mid-September, which OkayAfrica says was executive produced by Burna Boy and created across Cape Town and Lagos, OkayAfrica reported. TurnTable says SWAGUU opened with 53.75 million on-demand streams, the second-biggest opening week on record behind Asake's M$NEY, which opened with 57 million, and ended M$NEY's 17-week run at No. 1 on the albums chart. Olamide shared the project on his Instagram Story, Notjustok reported.

The Streaming Picture

The same picture shows up on Spotify. On the Spotify Nigeria daily chart on 30th September, Seyi Vibez held the first three places, with "Ilome" at No. 1 for an eighth consecutive day, "Volume" at No. 2 and "Back 2 U" at No. 3, tooXclusive reports.

Why This Matters

A chart sweep this complete says something about how Nigerian audiences now listen: through albums that people stream track by track, rather than one lead single carrying a rollout. PINCHED has looked at what a stream is actually worth to an African artist, and a run like this, with millions of plays a week on multiple songs, is the situation where those numbers add up fastest. It also puts Seyi Vibez beside Asake, whose own record he is now matching and whose album opening he came close to beating.

What to Watch Next

The question is how long the run lasts. Streaming charts are volatile, and the next set of Nigerian releases, including albums and EPs due in October, will test whether SWAGUU's tracks keep their grip. The other test is whether the numbers carry him beyond Nigeria's charts.

This article is a chart report, and PINCHED has not reviewed SWAGUU.
