Seyi Vibez Releases SWAGUU, a 14-Track Album Executive-Produced by Burna Boy

The new Seyi Vibez SWAGUU album arrived on Friday, 18th September 2026, with Burna Boy as executive producer and Quavo as the only guest. It is the follow-up to Fuji Moto, the project OkayAfrica credits with reshaping the sound of 2025. This update covers what has been released, how the rollout unfolded and what Seyi Vibez has said about the record so far.

What Seyi Vibez Released on 18 September

SWAGUU is a 14-track album, Notjustok reports, and Quavo joins Seyi Vibez on the title track as its only guest appearance, and Burna Boy is credited as executive producer. The album opens with "Volume" and closes with "Swaguu", and Album Talks published the running order as Volume, GTA, Diamonds, Melanin, God, Pansa, Ilome, Back 2 U, Alagia, El Jaja, Alubarika, Akpan Akpari, Oble and Swaguu featuring Quavo.

Two of the songs were already out, and OkayAfrica notes that the album arrives on the back of "GTA", released in July, and "Back 2 U", released in August. Its roundup highlights "Diamonds", "God", "Pansa" and "Ilome", and describes "Pansa" as the track that brings amapiano to the album.

How the Rollout Unfolded

The Burna Boy credit surfaced on 7th May, when Album Talks reported that promotional material named him as executive producer, after the two artists had been seen together at a photoshoot featuring exotic cars and a private jet. The official tracklist followed on 16th September, two days before release.

Seyi Vibez told OkayAfrica that the album began taking shape in Cape Town, South Africa, before he returned to Lagos to finish it, and that its title came from revisiting his 2025 track "SHAOLIN".

Why the Burna Boy Credit Stands Out

Notjustok describes Burna Boy as a mentor figure to Seyi Vibez, who has spoken about the advice he received from him to never show weakness and keep moving. Vistanaij adds that Quavo being the only featured artist keeps most of the record centred on Seyi Vibez himself.

How SWAGUU Follows Fuji Moto

Fuji Moto, released in 2025, pushed Seyi Vibez into wider sonic territory, according to The NATIVE, which says he fused influences from R&B, trap and house into his street-inflected delivery. On SWAGUU, the magazine writes, he is open about where he is headed. OkayAfrica calls Fuji Moto daring and experimental yet rooted in tradition.

Vistanaij's review reads the album as a step away from survival-driven street narratives toward ambition and the pressures that come with success, while the Yoruba-led writing and expressive vocal style stay central.

What He Has Said About the Album

"My state of mind right now is international," Seyi Vibez told OkayAfrica, adding that he wants to take his African culture and fan base with him. He acknowledged that global success could create some distance from the people who connected with him early on, but said the part of him that is African will not change. OkayAfrica reports that his catalogue has passed 5 billion streams across platforms, and DancehallMag adds that he set himself a three-year timeline to become a global star. PINCHED has looked at what a stream is actually worth to an African artist.

On the title track, he told The NATIVE, "I'm a star now, but let me show you I'm from the hood." He also told OkayAfrica that The Weeknd is the artist on his radar right now. That global ambition runs through the theme of the 18th Headies in Toronto too, which PINCHED covered under the banner Africa to the World.

Who Seyi Vibez Is

Seyi Vibez was raised in Ketu and Ikorodu in Lagos and began his career in 2019, according to OkayAfrica. His mix of street-pop, Afrobeats, Fuji and personal storytelling made him one of Nigeria's most-streamed artists in 2024 and 2025, and OkayAfrica puts his age at 26.

What to Watch Next

With the album only days old, the first signals will be streaming numbers and chart placement in Nigeria and abroad, and whether the Quavo title track carries Seyi Vibez to listeners outside Africa.

This article is a release update, and PINCHED has not rated the album.
