Your Ticket Price Shouldn't Change at Checkout. Here's How PINCHED Makes That Possible.

Your Ticket Price Shouldn't Change at Checkout. Here's How PINCHED Makes That Possible.

In short

PINCHED ticketing charges ticket buyers no booking fee and no service fee, so the price an organiser sets is the price the buyer pays. PINCHED's commission is taken from the sale on the organiser's side.

A flyer says ₦10,000, and then the checkout page asks for more. Booking fees, service charges and processing costs are added at the last step, and the buyer learns the real price only after choosing the ticket. PINCHED ticketing is built to avoid that: its page promises that the price shown is the price paid, with no booking fee for the buyer.

What No Booking Fee Means

The PINCHED pricing page says buyers pay no extra: "No booking fee, no service fee." The ticket price an organiser sets is the amount the audience pays, and nothing is stacked on top at checkout.

Buying still requires an account. A buyer signs in before paying, and the e-ticket is tied to their PINCHED account. If someone buys several tickets, they can assign each one to a guest's name later from their tickets page.

How Ticketing Fees Usually Stack Up

On many platforms the buyer is the one who pays the fee. Eventbrite's own help page states that ticketing fees are paid by ticket buyers by default, though organisers can choose to absorb them or pass them on.

The structure is a percentage plus a flat amount per ticket. Eventbrite lists a service fee of 6.95% plus £0.59 per paid ticket in the United Kingdom, which on a £20 ticket works out to £1.98. In the United States the service fee is 3.7% plus $1.79 per paid ticket, and a separate 2.9% processing fee applies to the order total. Eventbrite's page does not list rates for Nigeria, so these figures show how fees are built rather than what a Nigerian event pays.

The result is a checkout total that differs from the flyer. PINCHED's approach removes that gap for the buyer.

Where PINCHED's Money Comes From Instead

PINCHED does earn from ticket sales, but from the organiser's side. The pricing page says the platform's commission is taken from the sale and never billed to the seller separately. On a ₦1,000 sale, the organiser receives ₦900 on the Free plan, ₦920 on Pro, ₦940 on Studio and ₦970 on Exclusive. Enterprise is by agreement.

Those examples describe sales in general, so organisers should read the pricing page for the ticket rate that applies to their plan. The same take-home ladder is explained in PINCHED's earlier article on how creators keep up to 97% of what they earn, and the comparison of what Gumroad, Patreon and Substack cost shows the same logic applied to other platforms.

Ticketing is not on every plan. The Free plan does not include it, while Pro, Studio, Exclusive and Enterprise do. The Pro plan lists "Sell event tickets with QR check-in and a door board."

A Live Example: The Road Less Traveled

The clearest example on the platform right now is The Road Less Traveled with David Wilson, presented by 2805 Planet. It takes place on Sunday 18th October at the Knowledge Development Center (KDC), Waterlines, in Port Harcourt, with a purple carpet at 5pm and the main show at 6pm.

The tickets come in tiers:

  • Economy: ₦10,000 for one, or ₦15,000 for a couple.

  • Business Class: ₦20,000 for one, or ₦30,000 for a couple.

  • Chopper: ₦50,000.

  • Private Jet: ₦100,000, front row.

The event page carries the same promise as the pricing page: "₦0 added fees, the price you see is the price you pay." A buyer who picks the ₦20,000 Business Class ticket pays ₦20,000.

How Organisers Get Paid

Earnings reach an organiser's PINCHED balance as soon as a payment settles. The organiser can then request a withdrawal to their saved bank account, and transfers land on the next working day. Bank details must be added in creator set-up before anything paid can be published.

Who This Is For

Ticketing suits promoters, performers, workshop hosts and event organisers who already sell to an audience and want the posted price to match what buyers pay. PINCHED also runs a marketplace where tickets sit alongside downloads and courses from creators, and a separate way for fans to back creators directly with Give a Pinch.
